We Speak Horse

In late 2022, author Rae Rankin asked if I would write a newsletter article for “Tailings,” the Mother Lode Arabian Horse Association newsletter. I’m a big fan of Rae’s children’s books and was flattered by the ask. For its March 2023 edition, I wrote “We Speak Horse,’ about horse show preparation. As a storyteller, traveler, and genuine Francophile, naturally, my story began strolling the Champs Elysees.

Thinking ahead to what I’ll write for Arabian Horse Travel, right now, I’d say many posts will have similarities to this one, only with expanded information on unique stays, tasty dining, and what’s not to miss if you’re in the horse show city I’m focusing on.

I’m a self-described Audible addict and plan to share what I’ve been listening to. Novelist Jojo Moyes wrote The Horse Dancer, and I just loved it. Have you read or listened to it?

February’s annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show in Arizona and the many things there are to see, do, eat & drink around its ten days will be something I’ll write a lot about. Here are a few snaps from bygone Scottsdale shows.
